About Me

The purpose of this blog is to:

1.) Have fun

2.) Stir those creative juices in YOU.

3.) Inspire both of us to do more projects and keep in touch with the latest design trends.

Welcome to Creative Juices Decor!

I originally launched Creative Juices Decor in 2010 as a place to share my design degree knowledge, DIY projects, and inspiration for creating beautiful spaces on a budget. After 6 solid years of blogging, I stepped away to grow my design business which included residential homes, small businesses, and restaurant spaces. I also found the love of pickleball which did take up a lot of my sitting, writing weekly posts time.

Now, after a hiatus (kids are grown!).........I'm excited to be back.

While I've enjoyed working on a variety of design projects, my heart has always been in helping people transform their homes into spaces that reflect who they are. I believe great design doesn't have to come with a huge budget. Some of my favorite rooms are filled with unique finds, thrifted treasures, and affordable pieces that create a custom look without the custom price tag.

Here at Creative Juices Decor, you'll find decorating ideas, DIY projects, home renovations, room makeovers, and inspiration to help you turn your house into a home you truly love.

Whether you're tackling a full renovation or simply looking for a fresh idea, I hope you'll find inspiration, practical tips, and plenty of creative solutions along the way.

So glad you've stopped by my blog :-)

I'm Selina, an interior designer by degree, artist by heart, and classical musician by years of practicing! I am married to an engineer and have three now grown children.

(old pic! I'll update soon)

How this all started - Carpe Diem!

A few years ago I was questioned by a press woman regarding a design challenge I won

She asked, "Do you have a website?" I had to respond, "Well, ummmm no, I don't have anything!"

How am I suppose to "seize the day" without embracing this world of technology?

So here begins my Blog, Pinterest and Facebook page "Creative Juices for Decor".

I plan to showcase my work as a designer and American Clay applicator with a little LOT of miscellaneous thrown in there so that the next time I get asked if I have a link to some of my work I can say well YES, in fact I do.

If you are interested in advertising/working with me please see my Work With Me page.

THANK YOU to my wonderful readers -

without you, I wouldn't be blogging.
(links added to the projects they are referring too - check them out!)

I just stumbled upon your blog, and added you to my Google reader before I finished the first page! (I'm reading from the beginning now.)  You are witty, creative and a girl after my own decorating heart! Thank you so much for writing. I'm looking forward to getting "caught up" and can't wait to see what you're up to next.

Dear Selina,

I just couldn't NOT thank you for your fabulous map-art project (for your son’s room) – it’s wonderful!!! I'm on a tight budget these days & looking for an inexpensive (and large!) art piece for my son’s new room as well. Your idea has been truly inspiring. Thank you!!! So glad I found your blog on my late night internet ramble.

Sincerely,
Meg

Hi!

I love your blog. I have spent all morning (and a little more) reading almost every one of your posts. You have a great imagination and so much talent. I'm a new follower. I have a thing for thrifted lamps too. I think my favorite of your posts is the one about the very large canvas turned capiz shell and mirrored piece you hung over your bed. It was stunning. Love your stuff!! And congratulations on your new home. It's beautiful and your American Clay walls and ceilings turned out beautifully. I know you are tired but isn't it so worth it?

Thanks for sharing it with us,
lilwhitelife
