Tuscan Bronze Pfister Bathroom Faucet Giveaway! Make Your Bathroom Standout!

Image
I am super excited about this giveaway because Pfister faucets are so stinkin cool. :-) I have been working with the Pfister Company and they sent me a faucet to review. I am absolutely in love.....and I was already in love with my last faucet so, well, not sure what kind of homeowner I am getting rid of something I loved only to upgrade to another love - ha!   As far as quality goes, it's heavy duty and just what I would expect from a good quality faucet company. Let the pictures begin! I chose this faucet because it was unique.  In fact, it has become a conversation starter because guests walk out of the bathrooms saying, "I love that faucet!"   What sold me was the fun waterfall spout.  This faucet is from their Ashfield collection . Now that I think of it, I haven't really shown you guys my full completed guest bathroom (other wise know as the powder room) yet! This is my thrift store plate collection. You can see how ...

How To Use Barnwood To Create a Room Full of Character

Image
Barnwood Barnwood Barnwood.   I honestly think I could never get tired of it. Barnwood or any salvaged wood has so much TEXTURE and creates such interest in a space that it seems wherever and however you use it, you can't go wrong.   Just look at the eye candy below. This lovely room casually put the barnwood along ONE accent wall.  Notice how the greenery breaks up all the monochromatic colors in the room. Barnwood beams are quite popular.  I really enjoyed how this couple used the old barnwood but then updated it with some modern touches too.  It keeps you guessing and wanting to see the rest of the home!   Never be afraid of being ECLECTIC!  Mixing textures and design styles can create a room with character and interest. A lot of this bedroom below has a modern spin, but then the salvaged pine wood adds an instant age factor to the room .   Now that I see it with the textured pine, I can't imagine it loo...

Closed Open Like always, people all over Blogland have come up with fun and new ways to use leftover shutters. How about as a HEADBOARD!  Isn't that color gorgeous?  Very coastal feeling. How about covering an entire WALL with old shutters!!  Keep your eye out at thrift stores and garage sales! Source Of course, you can always just find ONE shutter and paint it to match your home decor and use it to : hang kitchen accessories  make a coat/towel rack or hang photos source West Furniture Revival I love the idea of using a piece like this for holding Christmas cards too!  Holly put little key hooks on this to use as an organi...

Furniture and Home Decor Using Animal Hide - Creative Juices Award

Image
I love the amazing texture that animal hide creates. (it can be faux hide too!) It's just beautiful, so when I ran across this dresser, I knew I could do a fun Creative Juices Award post on it. Here is Vivian's BEFORE shot: And here is her AFTER shot!  She takes the GOLD for my Creative Juices Award!!! Yes, that is real cow hide glued down to the front of each dresser panel and then tacked with upholstery tacks along the edges.  (obviously, she stripped and stained the old piece which was purchased off Craigslist for 25 bucks) You can purchase cow hide remnants off eBay for a decent price.  Last time I was in IKEA they had hides there too. Anyway, I just LOVE LOVE that dresser!!! Look what this designer did to add texture to the room - they just draped a hide right over the coffee table.  What do you think?  Maybe it creeps you out? :-) source If you have been following me for a while...

How to Decorate with Birch Logs - Add Rustic Decor.

Image
Sometimes I'll admit, it's just the little things that excite me. :-) I asked a landscape friend of mine to collect some birch logs the next time they go trimming trees .  A few months later he showed up with a truck FULL of them!  WOWZERS, I was only hoping for a few logs but hey, that was GREAT!  I probably should have taken them all but I just grabbed about 20 logs and told him I was set.  You see, I ADORE texture and I ADORE barked trees.  Honestly is there anything more beautiful than rippling crumbling bark full of white, tan and black?  OK, no need to answer that question ;-) I guess I just have this strange passion towards logs - ha! I was looking and found this log online.....  It was from SAVE ON CRAFTS where ONE log is on SALE for 17.99 (reg. 27.99)  I am going to text my friend right now and tell him I'll take the truck load - SERIOUSLY!!!!  I mean how much do they charge on top of that ...

Our First RUSTIC Christmas Mantel - Twigs, Berries and Reindeer

Image
Here we go!!!   Let's get right into the Rustic Christmas decorating! Alright, I'll admit, I'm not always ready to start decorating for Christmas but this year is my FIRST year (after a FIVE year renting era) in our new house. You have to understand, in the rental, we didn't even HAVE a mantel.  I was very thankful for that house but c'mon people, I am an interior designer and I went 5 years without a mantel.  :-) So I guess I'm a little excited.......bear with me :-) I wasn't sure what my plan was for my huge mantle but I was walking around Michaels with my eldest daughter and we walked by this GIANT (I mean H.U.G.E) wood wreath and I started laughing and said to my daughter, " Look at that wreath, who in their right mind would buy a huge thing like that??"  We got a kick out of it, chuckling over the idea of the crazy person who would want that. But of course, as things usually progress......that night when most people...
