My Daughter's Blue and White Antique Themed Bedroom

One thing I really love about the new house is how the upstairs was built into the roof rafters.  I actually believe doing it that way saves money but I just like it because it reminds me of an attic space with neat nooks and crannies! You can contact your all around roofing company to talk about the different ways to incorporate rooms into the architecture of the roof.

This is my eldest daughter, she adores animals, but unfortunately, my husband does not!!!  (Any one else in this predicament?!)  He did let her have a dog, and a few years later he gave in to a hamster.  She really would like to BREED her hamster now and that is where my husband has drawn the line – he says, NO BABY RATS cute adorable baby hamsters in the house.

I am not sure how I got on this animal kick when I am supposed to be showing you her bedroom but, I guess you really are getting to know the lady (family) behind the blog – right? :-)

OK here is a sneak peak of the colors I choose (and her little baby “Chai”)
White, Tan and Blue

And the After:

I did the same clay as the downstairs except I did a pigment “tea wash” on top of the clay…..pretty much a watercolor fresco :-)

The headboard below has to be my all time favorite thrift store find$7.50!!!!!!!

And the AFTER:

For those that follow my blog religiously, you know that I made that valance out of an old frame that broke.  Check out that post if you haven’t read it yet!

You can also see my post on this Annie Sloan Chalk Paint desk I painted or the antique chair that I fixed up and reupholstered.

This little blue chalk paint table was absolutely perfect to hold her hamster cage!

One more angle:

What do you think??

I am sure my daughter hopes that one day, her entire room can be full of pets, or at least full of baby hamsters.

If you haven't checked out my other children's themed room be sure and do so!
